The TCS New York City Marathon represents the best of New York—when all New Yorkers come together to support each other and cheer on their neighbors. For the seventh year, United Way of Long Island was selected as a charity partner for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon. United Way of Long Island’s Team Mission United runners finished the 26.2- mile course, raising over $32,000 in support of U.S. military veterans and their families on Long Island.

United Way of Long Island has received the highest ratings from non-profit evaluators including Charity Navigator and Candid (formerly GuideStar). United Way has also earned Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level.

Each year, Charity Navigator evaluates more than 8,000 charities based on their financial performance, accountability, and transparency, making them the leading non-profit evaluator in America.

The new Board Chair for United Way of Long Island is Lynda Nicolino, Chief Legal Counsel of the Bethpage Federal Credit Union. Ms. Nicolino succeeds Alexander G.  Bateman, Jr., Partner at Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C., who served as chair for four years.

Aaron Choo, Vice President Gas Field Operations & Programs Downstate of National Grid will serve as Vice Chair Elect.

In 2022, Team Mission United raised over $28,000 for Long Island’s Veterans

The Bountiful Company, a Nestlé Health Science Company, has awarded a $30,000 grant to United Way of Long Island to support the nutritional health and wellness of families on Long Island. The grant will be used to provide nutrition education to families with school-age and pre-school children, offering educational tools and services for over 100 children.

United Way of Long Island recently elected Smithtown resident Thérèse C. Vobis (Teri), Senior Vice President of Tax & Accounting at First Long Island Investors, to its Board of Directors. The announcement was made by Theresa A. Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island.

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Amityville resident Daniel Lloyd, Founder of Minority Millennials, to its Board of Directors. Daniel brings his devotion, networking skills, and drive that have enabled him to be recognized as one of the Top 35 nonprofit founders to impact the world by Cause Artist.

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Westbury resident, Dana R. Boylan, Esq., former Executive Director of Nassau County’s Office of Youth Services, to its Board of Directors.  In her immediate past role, she was responsible for funding, providing fiscal and administrative oversight, supporting youth development and prevention programs for over 40 nonprofit agencies.  

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Wheatley Heights – Half Hollow Hills resident Darryl Clark, Corporate Vice President and Associate Partner of Wallace Eannace to its Board of Directors. Darryl brings his leadership skills, creativity, compassion and knowledge that has enabled him to be known as “The Creative Thought Scientist”.
 

January 11, 2022 (Deer Park, NY) - United Way of Long Island recently elected Baldwin Harbor resident Magdalonie Paris-Campbell, Area Manager of External Affairs at AT&T Services, Inc., to its Board of Directors. She manages all External Affairs activities on Long Island, including working with local governments and enhancing AT&T's presence within various Long Island communities.
