Newsday General Counsel Joins United Way’s Board of Directors

FSDina Sforza, General Counsel to Newsday, will serve on the 50-member United Way of Long Island Board of Directors.

With over twenty years’ experience representing media organizations, Dina has dedicated her career to defending press freedom and advocating for open and transparent government. In her current position, Dina leads the company’s legal department, handling all First Amendment and right of access claims, and oversees the company’s compliance functions and human resources department.

She is a member of the company’s senior management team, providing strategic counsel and risk management with a focus on helping to drive the success of business objectives. Before joining Newsday, Dina was a Vice President/Law with Cablevision, providing counsel to its media properties, Newsday, News 12 Networks, and amNewYork; and corporate counsel to North Jersey Media Group, which published The Record and several local newspapers and magazines, where she successfully litigated several governmental records access cases under New Jersey’s open public records law.

Dina is a former board member and officer of Newsday Charities.
