Dedicated to Helping Long Island Adopt Green, Energy Efficient Practices While Helping The Environment
Rebuilding Right is a United Way of Long Island Initiative dedicated to helping Long Island adopt green, energy efficient practices as we continue to rebuild our communities and our homes that were damaged by Super Storm Sandy. The Rebuilding Right Initiative employs an education and awarenes campaign and is on the ground working with United Way of Long Island programs, YouthBuild, VetsBuild, & Green Jobs Corp. initiatives designed to increase energy-efficiency in new & existing homes while helping to develop a green-collar workforce that will fulfill the demand of the expanding green economy on Long Island.
Superstorm Sandy caused a devastating toll on the residents & communities of Long Island, but as the flood waters recede, the opportunity has arisen to rebuild the right way. The Rebuilding Right initiative promotes the rebuilding and conversion of existing homes to structures that will leave a significantly reduced carbon footprint, cost much less to operate and stand resilient in the face of severe weather in the future.
