UNITED WAY HAS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SYEP) THANKS TO BANK OF AMERICA
United Way of Long Island was awarded a $75,000 grant from Bank of America for its Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). This program provides high school and college students from diverse Long Island communities with paid internships and hands-on career training. There were 33 students employed with 21 nonprofit host agencies in communities throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties this summer.
United Way of Long Island has been allocated nearly $530,000 in funding under the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP).
United Way of Long Island has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) in support of the $2.2 million fundraising goal for the organization’s Net Zero Energy Building campaign. 

Amber, a Lakeview resident, has dreams of entering the fields of Political Science or International Relations. To achieve her goals, she understood the importance of excelling academically. Since the sixth grade, she was on the High Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society and was elected as Student of the Month.
