LONG ISLAND INSURANCE COMMUNITY RAISES OVER $13,000 FOR UNITED WAY’S VETERANS’ PROGRAMS

1,000 Veterans Receive Personal Care Kits

With Long Island having one of the highest veteran populations in New York State, United Way of LoLIIC ng Island focuses on our local heroes to ensure that they receive the attention and care they deserve. With that in mind, United Way’s partner Long Island Insurance Community, launched a campaign raising over $13,000 for the nonprofit Mission United program.

Contributions raised by the LIIC, combined with donated items from Bethpage Federal Credit Union allowed United Way to prepare 1000 Care Kits distributed to veterans at the Northport Veterans Affairs, Stony Brook Veterans Affairs, and United Veterans Beacon House. These Care Kits included gift cards, toiletry items, Girl Scout cookies, and special handwritten thank you notes showing our endless gratitude to our heroes.

"We are always incredibly pleased by the continued support of the insurance community's participation in the Mission United campaign. Even during challenging times, we raised over $13,000 to support our local veterans. The LIIC always shows their appreciation for veterans and goes the extra mile to give back," said Gloria Gargano, Co-Chair of the Long Island Insurance Community and United Way of Long Island Board of Directors member.

The funds raised by the LIIC will support United Way’s programs that provide veterans and military families with emergency financial assistance, training and key referrals to secure careers, as well as vital case management services.

"The Long Island Insurance Community has been helping Long Islanders for decades. We appreciate all the support and resources the LIIC provides to our Long Island veterans. It is excellent that we can give back to our veterans," said Theresa A. Regnante, President & CEO of United Way of Long Island.
