Rebuilding Communities & Re-imagining our Future
WHAT IS UNITED TOGETHER
United Together is our collective impact made possible through the generosity of like-minded supporters: corporations, foundations, labor unions, government and individuals.
United Way of Long Island has been committed to serving the community; we fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. Through triumphs and challenges, we mobilize the caring power of our region to help people in need.
United Together helps uplift our regional economy, bringing people back to work safely, and helping our neighbors transition into a new era. It provides support and resources to our most vulnerable populations - senior citizens, veterans, new families and school children. With so many unknowns ahead, it is critical that we prepare for the future today.
Long Islanders are experiencing financial hardship, food insecurity, and social isolation… challenges that continue to grow.
WHAT WE'VE ACCOMPLISHED
United Way has made a significant impact on the lives of Long Islanders during this health and economic crisis:
- Over 6,000 newly unemployed individuals received emergency gift cards to afford critical basic needs of food and household supplies
- Nearly 2,000 families, who are expecting or with newborns, were granted gift cards to purchase baby essentials
- More than 5,000 frontline responders were provided with freshly delivered meals, as well as take-home meal kits
As we transition to recovery and rebuilding, a special focus will be on supporting the elderly, including veterans; as well as school children who are in need of digital technology to succeed academically.
Together, we can rebuild and reimagine our Long Island communities. Let’s Unite
