Serving Those Who Served Our Country
Mission United is a program of United Way of Long Island that supports U.S. military veterans and their families on Long Island by helping them re-acclimate to civilian life. Mission United provides critical funding for services and resources in job training, employment assistance and emergency financial aid.
Through Mission United, United Way of Long Island is aligning existing services and creating solutions where there are gaps in support. The need for these services is particularly significant on Long Island as there are more than 95,000 veterans living in our communities.
VetsBuild, a signature program of United Way of Long Island's Mission United, is dedicated to the support of veterans and their families in our community. Many veterans on Long Island struggle to find a career path that will lead to financial independence. VetsBuild represents United Way of Long Island's commitment to addressing this problem by providing job training in the green energy construction field for our local heroes. View program details.
