WESTBURY RESIDENT MICHAEL PATRICK CAPLICE, LI REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF NYS COMPTROLLER’S OFFICE, JOINS UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

United Way of Long island recently elected Westbury resident Michael Patrick Caplice to its Board of Directors. As the Long Island Regional Director for New York State Comptroller, Michael works daily with local government officials to advocate for and resolve constituent issues including making sure they have access to their retirement pensions, recovering unclaimed funds, and helping to protect taxpayer dollars from fraud and abuse. Previous to his work at the Comptroller’s office, he worked for the County of Suffolk, the NYS Assembly, and the U.S. House of Representatives.

"Whether it's helping veterans, making sure low-income and at risk children get a chance to succeed, or making sure that individuals and families have their basic needs met, I believe United Way of Long Island sets the standard for making a difference in our community,” emphasized Michael.  He added, “I'm grateful for the opportunity to join its Board of Directors, and I look forward to doing everything I can to assist the organization’s efforts to help all the people who are struggling in these especially challenging times.”

“Michael has a dedication for improving the lives of Long Islanders and will contribute to our mission of helping families become financially stable and independent,” remarked Theresa A. Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island. 

Michael received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Adelphi University as a Presidential Scholar (full academic scholarship) and graduating Magna Cum Laude. He also received the Thomas S. Knight Memorial Award for Philosophy and is a recipient of the 2020 Executive Circle Award from the Long Island Business News.
