About the Program
VetsBuild provides job training in green construction, home energy efficiency, weatherization and home performance for Long Island veterans and their families. The program is free to veterans and is designed to help unemployed and underemployed veterans improve their employment prospects.
VetsBuild is a signature program of United Way of Long Island's Mission United.
- Training takes place at United Way’s E3 SmartBuild Training Center, a state-of-the art facility equipped with the latest technology and equipment, to provide students with hands-on experience.
- The multi-week course includes 10-hour entry level OSHA certification training, basic training in building science principles and weatherization, along with resume assistance, social media use, and financial literacy instruction.
- Case Management to assist military personnel and their families secure eligible services and Emergency Financial Assistance is available through United Way's Mission United partners.

VetBuild is currently recruiting for the next session which takes place April 20 - May 15, 2020. All classes are held during weekday/daytime hours.
