After many years with National Grid, Pat spent her last year as a passionate “Loaned Executive” from National Grid to United Way of Long Island, and worked full time in the organization since January 2017.
To honor Pat’s commitment and tireless efforts, the Michels Family and National Grid, along with United Way of Long Island, launched The Patricia Michels Memorial Scholarship Fund. This Fund provides academic scholarships to deserving young women attending YouthBuild who wish to pursue their dreams and aspirations by attending an accredited college, university or technical school.
Pat was fond of working with young people through YouthBuild to advance their skills, education and leadership qualities in order to gain self-sufficiency.
Please consider a gift to support this effort. Pat touched the lives of colleagues, friends and acquaintances. The Fund is a way to give back to a cause that meant so much to Pat.
