Family and Children's Association

Project Description: The (SMART Van) is equipped with computer stations and travels to senior centers, libraries, and health Fairs. Volunteers will work with seniors on the van or in the center to help them learn to use technology. (HIICAP) Volunteers will be helping seniors with their Medicare questions. (Ombudservice) trains volunteers to enter nursing homes and protect/advocate for patient rights. (Food delivery) Volunteers connect with homebound seniors to deliver food/shop/check-in. We can always use office assistance answer phones, send correspondence, follow-up calls, and surveys.

Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve

Project Description: The volunteers would be helping to pull out the mugwort and reseed the area with more native seeds. Caumsett had a volunteer effort to pull the mugwort in one of the bioswales and they did an amazing job, but there is still one more that is overgrown with mugwort. Having these areas clear of mugwort and full of native wildflower make them beautiful to look at but also a valuable resource for our native pollinators. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
