Team Mission United

Meet Team Mission United 2023, running in the TCS New York City Marathon on November 5, 2023

RUNNING FOR A CAUSE

For the seventh year, United Way of Long Island has been selected as a charity partner for the TCS New York City Marathon. United Way's Team Mission United is a dedicated group of competitive and recreational athletes who run 26.2 miles to raise funds in support of 67,000 U.S. military veterans on Long Island.

Since 2016, Team Mission United has raised over $150,000. The TCS New York City Marathon represents the best of New York—when all New Yorkers come together to support each other and cheer on their neighbors.

Too many U.S. military veterans are still living below the federal poverty line, earning less than $27,750 annually; sometimes, even while employed. Mission United is a critical funding source for United Way programs that support veterans and their families, including career training, employment assistance, and emergency financial aid.
