On Earth Day, April 22, 2015, United Way of Long Island (UWLI) in partnership with United Veterans Beacon House (UVBH) made history breaking ground on – the first in the country – Department of Energy (DOE) Zero Energy Ready Home that will be built by veterans for veterans under the UWLI VetsBuild® program.
