ABOUT TONY STUPORE

Anthony J. Stupore was a partner in the Jericho office of the international accounting firm Deloitteand was an avid supporter of the United Way of Long Island. Tony worked for more than 30 years with Deloitte, providing services for a wide range of industries including sports, entertainment, retail, media, cable, publishing, private equity, technology and service companies. He earned an MBA in management from New York University and a bachelor’s in business administration in public accounting from Hofstra University. Tony became  active with United Way of Long Island in the 1990’s and served for 15 years as a volunteer, Board Member and Treasurer.

From 2008 to 2010 he also served as the president of the Suffolk County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He was an exceptional leader who embodied the true spirit of leadership.It has been 10 years since we lost Tony, but his memory lives on.

Each year the United Way of Long Island presents its most prestigious volunteer award to recognize Tony’s extraordinary service. The Anthony J. Stupore Memorial Volunteer Champion Award is presented to a Long Island leader who personifies the qualities embodied by Tony, and demonstrates a distinguished history of volunteer service, and a profound commitment to fulfilling the United Way of Long Island’s mission of advancing the common good.

The United Way has also created The Anthony J. Stupore Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit young people’s futures throughout Long Island.

    • Under "Donor Designations" checkmark "Education/Dreams for Youth Scholarships" and type in Anthony J. Stupore Memorial Scholarship Fund in the box marked "Name of Fund/Program/Agency" 
    • At the bottom of the contribution page, complete the In "Honor Of/In Memory Of" section if desired
