Each year, our local media partners donate space in their publications and air time on their radio stations, helping us to spread the word on the importance of supporting United Way of Long Island's Community Initiatives, such as Project Warmth, Long Island’s emergency fuel fund that provides one-time grants to oil and utility companies on behalf of residents facing heating emergencies; and YouthBuild Long Island, an initiative that helps low-income young men and women work towards their GED while learning hands-on job skills by building affordable Green housing for low- to moderate-income people.
