United Way of Long Island is proud to announce our latest Healthy Homes project, the construction and sale of 23 Furman Avenue in East Patchogue.
In partnership with the Suffolk County Landbank, United Way has transformed this formerly abandoned structure into a state-of-the-art, energy efficient, healthy home that will enhance the neighborhood value. This project was also a training ground for United Way’s VetsBuild program, ensuring that our local veterans have future employment in the green construction industry. The house is a certified U.S. DOE Zero Energy Ready Home, which leverages advanced technology for superior energy efficiency and performance. 23 Furman Avenue will be sold to first-time homeowners at an affordable price. The future homeowner(s) should expect minimal to zero utility bills beginning on move-in date.
