Tony Stupore served the United Way of Long Island for 15 years as a volunteer, Board Member and Treasurer. He was an exceptional leader who embodied the true spirit of leadership through his service to the United Way.
In honor of Tony, the United Way has renamed its most prestigious volunteer award to recognize Tony’s extraordinary service. While our organization has benefited from his sharp analysis and meticulous, problem-solving approach, United Way employees and volunteers have also profited from his thoughtfulness and generosity. In Tony's memory, United Way of Long Island has created The Anthony J. Stupore Memorial Scholarship Fund to benefit young people’s futures throughout Long Island.
We lost Tony on November 20, 2013. His heart failed him, but his heart never failed Long Islanders in need.
