The Scott Martella Memorial Scholarship Fund

United Way of Long Island was honored to call Scott Martella a friend. He was a rising star in New York State and was a dedicated public servant who impacted thousands of lives across Long Island.  Before the age of 30, Scott assembled a list of accomplishments that included being the youngest member in the history of the Smithtown Central School District Board, was a key liaison to Governor Cuomo during Superstorm Sandy and served as the director of communications for Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone.

The Scott Martella Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students who will be attending college whose studies may include international relations or public service. The Fund also makes grants to 501(c)(3) tax exempt not-for-profit organizations.
