October 27, 2021 (Deer Park, NY) – AT&T is supporting United Way of Long Island’s Stuff-A-Bus program with a $10,000 gift.  This contribution will help provide children from low-income families with new school supplies whether they are headed back to the classroom or staying remote for the 2021/22 school year.

Leading up to September 11, the National Day of Service, school buses were loaded up with donated supplies including backpacks, pencils, markers, notebooks, glue, rulers, crayons and more. Items were delivered to the following school districts: Amityville, Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip, Freeport, South Country Central and Wyandanch.  Additionally, United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus supplies were distributed to the following community partners:  ABBA Leadership Center, Ascent School, Faith Mission Inc., Parent-Child Plus, The New York Family Unity Project, TWU Local 252, United Veterans Beacon House, Wyandanch Homes and Property Development Corp., Wyandanch Plaza Association and YouthBuild Long Island.

“The effects of the pandemic has caused deep financial burdens for thousands of families, preventing them from affording basic school items for their children,” said Magdalonie Paris-Campbell, Manager of External Affairs, AT&T. “The need is greater than ever, and AT&T is proud to support United Way of Long Island’s Stuff-A-Bus program and give back to those struggling families.”

AT&T’s support of the Stuff-A-Bus program grows out of the company’s commitment to supporting hard hit communities across United States and New York during the pandemic. The company and the AT&T Foundation have contributed more than $1.3 million to COVID-19 relief throughout New York.

“United Way is grateful for the support of AT&T; their partnership with the Stuff-A-Bus program will help ensure that students across Long Island have a full desk and the confidence they need to succeed this academic year,” said Theresa A. Regnante, president and CEO of United Way of Long Island.

Since its inception in 2008, Stuff-A-Bus has delivered over 990,000 school supplies to 45,000 children. To learn more about Stuff-A-Bus, visit www.unitedwayli.org/stuffabus
