Be part of the first “Paddle Battle Long Island Corporate Challenge” on July 18, 2015 located on the Peconic River in Riverhead, NY. This race is a new and exciting addition to the annual “Paddle Battle Long Island” race which has been a great success for the past two years! The Peconic River is a beautiful stretch of estuary on Long Island’s east end and a perfect location for this event. |

The “Paddle Battle Corporate Challenge” is a recreational Stand Up Paddle Board and Kayak race where companies, organizations, or will compete against each other for the first ever “Paddle Battle Corporate Challenge” trophy! The race will consist of teams of four competitors who will participate in the 2.5 mile Stand Up Paddle Board and Recreational Class Kayak categories. The team with the overall best combined time will take home the championship trophy along with the bragging rights of winning the first ever “Paddle Battle Corporate Challenge.” Also new for this year is an after paddle family bbq bash, that will include food, music, drinks and so much more. We are sure it will be great time raising money for a great cause! The corporate challenge race begins on the beautiful Peconic River in Riverhead NY, {check out the Google map race track}. This is an excellent location for this type of event with the race course designed for all skill levels. This fun filled day of races helps raise money for United Way of Long Island's VetsBuild Program. |
Rules
Team Guidelines:
- Teams must consist of 4 persons.
- All team members entered to compete must be employed by the company for a minimum of one month.
- The team entered with the best combined time for each race category will determine who goes home with the bragging rights of winning the first ever “Paddle Battle Long Island Corporate Challenge”.
- Race Day/Safety Rules:
- Kayaks: Life Vests (PFD) are required on craft. All participants must wear PFD (personal floatation device) during race. Must provide their own.
- Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP): Leash required
- No drafting allowed after first 500ft
- No more than three consecutive strokes in a row can be taken on your knees.
*Safety first, we ask all team members to assist your fellow paddlers if you see the need arise.
We will have boats and spotters throughout the course for your safety.
