United Way of Long Island Local Partners Receive National Recognition

Bank of America wins one of United Way’s Highest National Honors:

Bank of America
United Way Worldwide, recognized Bank of America with a Summit Award for Community Impact. The Summit Awards program is United Way’s highest national honor, recognizing corporations for outstanding employee and community engagement and measurable impact in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

Bank of America and its employees raised more than $30.5 million through the United Way campaign in 2012 and have led the way in national financial stability work with United Way.  Locally, the workplace campaign raised $77,000 for the United Way of Long Island.
 
In addition, Bank of America employees volunteered 1.5 million hours globally, including 1,500 employees giving their time at volunteer tax assistance sites. Since 2006, Bank of America has invested $8 million in Financial Stability grants with United Way, especially around free tax preparation and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

Deloitte, LLP Receives National Recognition by United Way:

Deloitte, LLP
The Fleur de Lis Special Recognition Award is presented to the corporation with the most Tocqueville Society Members nationwide, individuals giving $10,000 or more annually. For the 11th consecutive year, the winner is Deloitte LLP! Locally, $65,000 was raised for the region during the United Way of Long Island’s annual workplace giving campaign.
