UNITED WAY OF LONG ISLAND AND PEOPLE’S UNITED BANK PARTNER IN SUPPORT OF LONG ISLAND VETERANS

United Way of Long Island is pleased to announce that People's United Bank made a $25,000 contribution to United Way of Long Island’s Mission United campaign in support of local veterans initiatives.

In addition, as the lead sponsor of United Way’s Mission United t-shirt campaign, and to further enhance the Bank’s support, t-shirts and bandanas were sold at People’s United Bank branch locations throughout Long Island.

The campaign raises funds for veterans and allows local residents, Bank customers and employees to honor Long Island heroes by proudly wearing their Mission United t-shirts and bandanas on or around Veterans Day, November 11, 2019. More than 100 other corporations, labor unions and organizations also participated in this annual campaign to raise awareness and funds for military members and their families.

“People’s United Bank is proud to support United Way of Long Island and its work to ensure local veterans have access to the resources they need. The Mission United t-shirt campaign adds another important, yet simple way to salute and show our collective gratitude to those who have served,” stated Steven G. Santino, Senior Vice President, Senior Growth Manager of People’s United Bank.

“We’re incredibly appreciative of People’s United Bank for their continued support of United Way’s veterans programs. Every donation raised is critical to ensuring the men and women who served our country receive the career training and mental health resources needed to live a comfortable and sustainable life on Long Island,” said Theresa A. Regnante, President & CEO of United Way of Long Island.

Mission United provides funding for services and resources to Long Island military veterans and their families focusing on employment services, education, financial services, health and housing support. The need for these services is particularly significant on Long Island as over 100,000 veterans live in our communities.
