United Way Of Long Island Announces Honorees For Annual Live United Celebration Luncheon, Hosted By Comedian Carol Leifer And Sponsored By Bethpage Federal Credit Union

 

February 29, 2016 (Deer Park, NY) -- United Way of Long Island will honor organizations, individuals and Labor Unions at its annual LIVE UNITED Celebration Luncheon on Wednesday, May 11th at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.  The fundraising event, supported by longtime Title Sponsor, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, will be hosted by Long Island native Carol Leifer; Comedian, Writer for Seinfeld and SNL, 4-Time Emmy Award Nominee, and Best Selling Author.  

With an expected fundraising goal of $600,000, this event is one of the largest yearly philanthropic events on Long Island.  The LIVE UNITED luncheon welcomes over 1,000 guests to honor and pay tribute to some of United Way’s most prominent supporters.

The 2016 LIVE UNITED Luncheon will present four awards for individual, corporate, foundation and labor leaders who have shown the dedication and ongoing generosity and commitment to help United Way of Long Island assist and improve the lives of thousands of individuals on Long Island.  Honorees include John R. Durso, President, Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW and the Long Island Federation of Labor receiving The Anthony J. Stupore Live United Volunteer Champion Award; Macy’s Inc. receiving the LIVE UNITED Corporate Champions Award; The Island Outreach Foundation receiving The Elena M. Perez Pioneer Vision Award; and Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW receiving The LIVE UNITED Labor Champion Award.

Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island remarked on the impact that the 2016 Award recipients have made.  She said, “We are paying tribute to distinguished honorees that have made a tangible difference in the lives of so many people on Long Island. Each award recipient has shown true leadership and has set an exemplary standard for others to follow.”
