Long Island Veterans to Win Big at Bets For Vets Casino Night

Deer Park, NY (October 20, 2015) -- Transport Workers Union Local 252 will host a Casino Night to benefit United Way of Long Island's Mission United. This veteran initiative is a critical program supporting Long Island military veterans and their families as they transition to civilian life. The program addresses issues from financial needs to healthcare resources and educational programs. The event will take place on November 13, 2015 from 6:00 -- 10:00 p.m. at IBEW Local 25, 370 Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY 11788.

As Long Island is home to the second largest concentration of veterans in the United States and a staggering 1 in 5 is currently living in poverty, programs like Mission United exist to connect our veterans with resources that will help them build a solid foundation.

Theresa Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island, said of the partnership, "The support that the Transportation Workers Union Local 252 has given United Way of Long Island's Mission United program is dynamic. We are thankful to have such strong community leaders supporting our veterans programs."

Tickets are open to the public and may be purchased at the door for $20. Admission includes "play money" to be used at several Casino Night games, including blackjack and roulette. Grand prizes will be awarded to the night's top winners, and a 50/50 raffle and auction will also be held. A complimentary buffet will be served, along with a cash-bar.

For more information on ticket purchases or sponsorship and journal ad opportunities, please contact Mary Flaiban from TWU Local 252 at 631-761-6907.
