Deer Park, NY (July 8, 2016) — Fashion and fundraising have joined forces to provide assistance to Long Islanders in need. Macy’s Inc. employees across Long Island recently announced a pledge of $194,000 to United Way of Long Island through their payroll deduction giving program. These funds will significantly aid United Way and its more than 100 community partner agencies in an effort to offer programs and support services to better the lives of families and individuals in the region.
In addition to the employee giving campaign, Macy’s contributed a $51,000 corporate gift - bringing the support from Macy’s to a total of $245,000 and positioning them as one of United Way Long Island’s largest corporate workplace campaign partners.
“Macy’s and its employees are loyal and generous supporters, working as a powerful team to foster positive change,” said Theresa A. Regnante, President and CEO of United Way of Long Island. “We are grateful that as Long Islanders, they choose to donate to United Way and our community partners, impacting hundreds of thousands of their fellow neighbors, year after year.”
Margaret Grioli, Vice President, Corporate Communications and Employee Volunteerism at Macy’s and United Way of Long Island Board Member expressed her enthusiasm for the success of the campaign. “Macy’s is committed to giving back to organizations that, like United Way, have strong roots and an influential presence in their local communities.
