YouthBuild Long Island's Photo Journal
YouthBuild Long Island's first and second year students have achieved their GEDs, received hands-on ‘green’ high demand construction experience, and obtained industry-recognized credentials that will help them to reach economic self-sufficiency. These skill sets have proven invaluable to these young adults as they enter the workforce or seek to continue their education.
YouthBuild students are collaborating with labor unions, community partners and corporate volunteers on YouthBuild's first affordable housing project. Made possible by a donation from the Town of Islip,This energy efficient home is set to be completed in December and will benefit a qualified low-income family.
Students also constructed YouthBuild’s first 2,000sq. foot technology learning lab, in Deer Park where they’ve worked side-by-side with dedicated and experienced contractors. To date, they have poured concrete, installed radiant heating, and framed the classroom walls.
