United Way also offers an Information & Referral telephone service for individuals seeking information about available health and human care programs across Long Island. United Way community initiatives are also available to help Long Islanders in need.

Project Warmth Emergency Fuel Fund provides one-time grants to oil and utility companies on behalf of residents facing heating emergencies. Call 631.940.3757.

Mobile Health Long Island partners with the North Shore-LIJ Health System to bring both medical and dental services to families, children and seniors in underserved communities on Long Island. Call the
Mobile Health Program directly at 1.866.733.8316.

FamilyWize Prescription Discount Program provides prescription drug discount cards to Long Islanders without health insurance or who are in need of medications not covered by their insurance plan. The
discount lowers prescription costs by an average of 35%.

YouthBuild Long Island provides unemployed young adults, ages 18 to 24, with the opportunity to earn their GEDs, learn construction skills and serve their communities by building energy efficient, affordable housing. Call 631.940.3718.

Access to Home provides accessibility modifications to homes of low-income individuals in Nassau and Suffolk counties that enable citizens to stay in their own homes rather than move into assisted care. Call 631.940.3726.

The RESTORE Program helps low-income senior homeowners (ages 60+) in Nassau and Suffolk Counties to pay for emergency home repairs to eliminate hazardous conditions. Call 631.940.3746.

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program provides emergency grants that may assist with up to one month's rent, mortgage, utility payment and food for individuals and families under the federal eligibility guidelines. Call 631.940.3740.
