School Transportation Industry Supports Early Education
Long Island School Transportation Industry Supports United Way’s Early Childhood Education Initiative
United Way of Long Island recently hosted its annual Success By 6 “Keeping Kids on Track” Breakfast, supported by local school transportation industry leaders. For the past five years, this event - which supports early childhood education - has raised close to $150,000 and is championed by Suffolk Transportation Services in Bay Shore. Success By 6 helps to prepare children to enter and succeed in school by supporting parents’ efforts and advocating for community support of families.
Proceeds from the event benefit Middle Country Public Library’s Mother’s Centers and Kids in Care program which provides peer support to mothers and caregivers raising young children. Proceeds also benefit Parent-Child Home Program’s homeless family literacy program, which helps parents prepare their children for academic success in school.
