Green Job Corps.

Through United Way of Long Island’s Green Jobs Corps, participants learn the technical science and application of weatherization and energy conservation techniques. Upon completion of training, participants complete actual weatherization field work at designated home sites.

Program includes three, 6-week training cycles (with 15 students in each cycle for a total of 45 students), with a curriculum based on building science and weatherization, Green and standard construction and industry-specific training on machinery and equipment. Eligible participants must be adult (18 and over) displaced workers currently receiving public assistance. Training is run out of United Way’s state-of-the-art E3 Career Training Center.
