Each year, United Way of Long Island and its community partners work together to create lasting change in people's lives and in the community, helping to provide much needed care to Long Islanders in need—children, parents, families and seniors.

Our experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to bring communities together to tackle root causes of community problems. Here on Long Island, we bring together community leaders, businesses, labor unions, government and nonprofits to build stronger communities by focusing on improving access to health care, supporting children and youth, reducing hunger and assisting our neighbors in need.

With the support of generous donors, we were able to distribute more than $9.5 million in grants to change lives right here on Long Island.
