Theresa A. Regnante
President & CEO

Theresa Regnante is the newly-appointed President and CEO of United Way of Long Island. She assumes her role in early May and will lead the 44-year-old charity in its initiatives to be responsive to community needs by improving access to health care, reducing hunger, supporting children and youth and assisting neighbors in need.

Regnante’s return to United Way follows a successful six-year tenure at Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC) where, as the Vice President of Development and Community Relations, she oversaw the areas of endowment support, capital campaigns, major gifts, corporation and foundation grants, special events, marketing and public relations activities.

Prior to EAC, Regnante worked at United Way of Long Island for 17 years, serving in various positions of increasing responsibility. In her last position as Executive Vice President, she was responsible for organizing the Major Gifts Appeal for a $3 million Capital Campaign, and worked with United Way’s community partners to oversee the allocation fund distribution process.

Regnante has been widely honored and recognized regionally for her accomplishments. Most recently, this year she has once again –for the second time – been named one of the “Top 50 Women in Business” by Long Island Business News (she first received the honor in 2005). Her other achievements include: 2004 Outstanding Fundraising Professional by the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals; 2006 Distinguished Service Award by the Town of Islip; and in 2007 she was selected as an Emerging Leader representing EAC as the recipient of The Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Award and a $200,000 capacity building grant. Additionally, the American Heart Association, the Urban League of Long Island, North Shore Family and Child Guidance Center and UCP of Suffolk/FREE have all honored her for her efforts on behalf of the Long Island community.

A member of the Energeia Partnership Class of 2009, Theresa is an Executive Committee Board Member of the Long Island Fund for Women and Girls, and the Co-President of The Advisory Council for the Long Island Partnership for After School Education Initiative (PASE). She serves as an active committee member for the American Heart Association, the Urban League of Long Island, and the Women Product Expo benefitting the Middle County Library Foundation.
