A seasoned communications executive in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors, Julie Robinson-Tingue is the Vice President of Marketing & Communications at United Way of Long Island.  She oversees all media and public relations, special events marketing, brand development and all print and electronic marketing of United Way’s initiatives and programs.

Prior to joining United Way of Long Island in February 2008, Robinson-Tingue was a consultant and Manager of Client Relations for Progressive Marketing Group, Inc., where she created comprehensive public and media relations campaigns for the firm’s clientele, and provided writing, crisis communication and public relations counsel to companies on Long Island and in New York City. She is the former Manager of Community Relations and Spokesperson for Long Island Blood Services, a division of New York Blood Center, and the former Director of Public Affairs at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, where she directed all advertising, marketing, public and community relations and employee communications programs on behalf of the Institute.

Robinson-Tingue has also held senior positions in the medical and health practices at GHBM Healthworld and BSMG Worldwide (now Weber Shandwick), both large international communications firms headquartered in New York City, where she developed and managed global communications programs on behalf of major hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and not-for-profit health organizations.  Robinson-Tingue began her 19-year career as a television and radio news reporter in Buffalo, New York.

Additionally, Robinson-Tingue is a published freelance writer, voice-over specialist and on-camera talent for television videos and infomercials.  She has volunteered on advisory boards and event committees on behalf of the Suffolk County Girl Scouts, Urban League of Long Island, The Long Island Works Coalition, the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Bay Shore Wellness Alliance and the Bay Shore School District.  She has been a featured guest speaker for a host of organizations, including The Nassau County Equal Opportunity Commission, the Hempstead School District and New York Blood Center, and is a member of professional organizations such as the Fair Media Council, New York Women in Communications, International Association of Business Communicators, and Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals and Public Relations Professionals.

She resides in Bay Shore with her husband and two young children.
